Quick Bytes

Here's some good news about Iraqis not afraid to fight for themselves,

Fighting Back:

You may remember Dhia Muhsin, a carpenter from the working-class Baghdad neighborhood of al-Dora, who became a celebrity of sorts back in March, when he stood up to insurgents who terrorized his area. In a firefight lasting half an hour Mushin and his nephews killed three of them and forced the rest to retreat.

More good things about our troops that get swept under the rug because it doesn't fit the MSM agenda.

Soldiers save Iraqi family :

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The Iraqi woman had been in hiding with her children since her husband was pulled from his truck and shot in front of one of his sons.
This weekend they began a new life, brought to the United States with help from soldiers who had befriended the man and were tormented by the idea that their relationship contributed to his death.

Interesting, but not surprising.

A little history lesson for our moonbat cohorts.

CHOPPING HEADS - Amir Taheri - Benador Associates:

Islamic history is full of chopped heads being sent around by special delivery to reassure rulers, to terrorize foes and to impress the common folk. In 1821, the Qajar king of Persia ordered a week of celebrations when he received the severed head of a Russian general who had been captured in a battle near Baku. In 1842, the Afghans massacred the British garrison in Kabul, a total of 2,000 men and their wives and children, chopping off their heads and putting them on sticks to decorate the city. (They allowed one man to leave to report to the British.)

We'll have to keep an eye on this.
