What's at Stake With the Mexican Border?

Many Hispanic activists, Mexican citizens and perhaps even members of the Mexican government believe the American Southwest rightfully belongs to Mexico. They refuse to accept the legality of the U.S. annexation of Texas in 1845, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo following the Mexican-American War, which gave large parts of Mexico to the U.S., or the 1852 Gadsden Purchase of Mexican territory now in Arizona and New Mexico.

Let's see: We bought some of the land, which means they sold it. The rest of it they LOST because WE KICKED THEIR ASS!!! Now they don't like the terms of acquisition? Come and take it back then. Oh, wait, that's what we're letting them do.

Past and present leaders of Mexico support this idea of reclamation which helps explain why:

A Zogby poll found that 58 percent of Mexicans agreed with the statement, "The territory of the Southwest U.S. rightfully belongs to Mexico," and therefore they believe they don't need permission to enter.

So how will they take it back (besides us just letting them have it)?

Activist Charles Trujillo, a professor at the University of New Mexico, predicts that a new Hispanic nation will be formed within this century, encompassing much of the American Southwest and part of northern Mexico. He says U.S. states have the right to secede under our original Articles of Confederation, and this will occur in the future when several Southwest states have Hispanic majorities.

That's right: They will keep coming into the US illegally, out-breed us, and gain a political and demographic majority. Our politicians, including President Bush, think they can make them either Republicans or Democrats and increase their voting base, so they don't want to make waves. Mr. President, with all due respect, please GET OFF YOUR ASS AND DO SOMETHING NOW!!!

But it's ultimately going to be up to you and me to stop this madness. The Minuteman Project is a great idea whose time has been long overdue. I personally think we are being invaded and thus all illegals should be shot on sight while attempting to cross the border. They are trying to steal our birthright as Americans; a birthright our forefathers fought for - and the Mexicans lost. I'll be damned if we should let our nation slip away by default, without a fight.

The only thing that stands between them and our country is US!!! Will you let them take it from you? Keep making excuses for them being here and making excuses for your lazy politicians doing nothing about it, and they will.
