Joe's Dad

Today is the day set aside to remember Vietnam era veterans like Joe's dad. Semper Fidelis.

Vietnam veterans who served their country, who withstood the denegration imposed upon them on their return to the US. Men who through their great virtues survived with pride.

Remember the likes of Lt Gen Harold "Hal" Moore (USA).

Remember the fallen and their families.

Say a prayer for all men, women and children in remembrance and thanks.

My dad's best friend, a former MAC-SOG in Vietnam, knows Hal Moore personally. The movie is THE BEST movie about Vietnam, and I cannot think of a better man to have portrayed Gen. Moore than Mel Gibson.

When I first watched the movie and then my wife got me the DVD, I didn't know that was a true story till I read your post yesterday. I've watched it at least 4 times, it's that good. Knowing it is true, makes Gen Moore even a more amazing man.
