Traditional Artist

The next three images that you will see shown were created by my friend Lewis Gardiner, who resides in Rotorua New Zealand. He is described as a master carver, his specialty being works in pounamu known to all New Zealanders more commonly as Greenstone. We do not call this stone found only in New Zealand, jade.

The pounamu holds a very deep spiritual meaning to the Maori, who believe it to be sacred., and I believe Lewis to be one of the finest craftsman of the art.

Yes his work is beautiful and the feel of them is so welcoming to the touch.

I bought Joe a neck pendant called a tiki for his birthday from Lewis , lol that ended up being a sale for 2, as Lewis design a male and female version of the carving for us. I will get Joe to take a picture of them soon and post them here or by email to you
