Update, or........Sorry We're Lagging
Apologies for not getting anything out there yesterday, but other events took priority. This weekend will be light as well, but we kind of plan on light weekends anyway, mostly fun stuff - culture and sports, and plenty of pictures!
Also, look for our special coverage of round 2 of the Australian V8 Supercar Series and supporting races all weekend long from Pukekoe Park Raceway, just outside of Auckland (for our readers in the States). Local coverage today is from 2-6pm on NZ channel 1, and goes for a full 6 hours on Sunday from noon-6pm!!! We were gonna go see it live since it's only an hour and a half drive or so, but with that kind of coverage (on free tv no less) why bother?!! Oh, did I mention yard work, major tree trimming around the house, and a run into town, too? LOL!!! It's fall here now (last night was fucking cold!!!), and this weekend's weather is supposed to be awesome with cool, crisp, dense air. Combine that with track improvements that have already produced quicker lap times (on an already fast track) in today's practice and qualifying, and we should have some very fast and exciting racing. If you're a motorsports junkie like me (road course racing, especially), stay tuned for lots of pics, hopefully some video links, and some commentary from me.
In the interest of saving space and all that, the required reading essay, Cicero's Prognosis, that was formerly here, is now here. Or feel free to email us and we'll email you a copy.

I love that this ends with Ben Franklin... he is still so relevant today and could teach today's government a thing or two about collaboration. (I'm into Ben particularly at this moment because here in Philadelphia, we're gearing up for "Ben Franklin 300 Philadelphia"---the city-wide celebration of Ben's 300th birthday in 2006!)
