Let There Be Hope

Before heading out this cold Thursday morning, I came across this and thought it was worthy to be posted.

AL-ZARQAWI:
"Baghdad, 11 May (AKI) - The Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is 'serious injured, possibly dead' according to Colonel Fouad Hani Hassan, commander of the fifth division of the Iraqi armed forces, cited by 'Elaph', a popular website in the Arab world. Al-Zarqawi, considered al-Qaeda's leader in Iraq, is believed to have been injured in the major offensive US-led forces have been carrying out in the western Anbar province over the last few days"

"While Operation Matador is not specifically aimed at catching al-Zarqawi, Brig. Gen. James Conway told a Pentagon news briefing on Tuesday that "it would be a welcome event to come across him or his body."

AND this excellent piece from a strategic point of view at the Belmont Club:
"Nowadays, Zarqawi's 'martyrdom' volunteers aggressively prowl the streets of Iraq in dump trucks, fire engines, and even police cars laden with tons (literally) of makeshift explosives. Rather than striking at targets of opportunity, the suicide bombers are often used to kickoff coordinated attacks on major targets, as seen in recent Al-Qaida operations on the Al-Sadeer Hotel in Baghdad, Abu Ghraib prison west of Baghdad, Camp Gannon in far western Iraq, a U.S. intelligence base in Tikrit, and (most recently) the 'Battles of Omar Hadeed and Mohammed Jassem al-Issawi'"

Another report: War in Iraq looks like last stand for al Qaeda :
"The war in Iraq is increasingly looking more like a showdown with Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda followers than a battle primarily against Saddam Hussein loyalists"

Sorry don't have time to comment further, however, let us pray one less scum has indeed joined the bones of his ancestors.
